Raised in the Golden Isles, a Coastal area of Georgia, Alyssa is a 22-year-old University of Georgia student studying Health and Physical Education. She graduated in the Top 5% of her high school class and has received the Dean’s List honors in college. After completing her college degree, Alyssa aspires to be a successful female entrepreneur by opening a Dance and Fitness Studio. She is also the Regional Director for Fusion National Dance Competition with plans to continue furthering her career with this Organization.
Alyssa sustained a life changing injury that severely affected the future she had planned for herself. Due to her incredible resilience and ability to find the positive in any situation, Alyssa shifted gears and began teaching choreography to students of all ages across her home state and the country.
To amplify her efforts, Alyssa created #RiseUp: Impact Through the Arts Initiative and Scholarship program four years ago to increase awareness about the importance the Arts can have on individuals and communities, while also sharing her passion and abilities with lower-income and disabled students that may not otherwise have the opportunity to experience the arts.
In her spare time, Alyssa loves taking her four dogs on adventures, especially when they get to go to the beach. She is a self-proclaimed fitness junkie who enjoys a good workout, playing her ukulele, and is an excellent cookie-in-a-cup baker.
Living out her dream of becoming Miss Georgia USA has kept Alyssa very busy since her crowning. She has big plans for increasing the appearance of arts in our communities, and hopes you will support her along her journey to Miss USA!
